KEEP KIDS SAFE

KEEP KIDS SAFE

The issue of child sexual abuse in Samoa is of increasing concern. Talofa Kids is on a mission to raise awareness on how we can prevent these crimes from being committed against children. Child safety resources have been regularly shared online since August 2020 but the Keep Kids community training will commence in February 2021.

1. Training workshops for adults and organisations will guide them through child protection and safeguarding course.

2. Delivery of ‘Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure™’ personal safety program created by Bravehearts™, teaching children aged 3-8 fundamental principles of personal safety in a gentle, non-confronting way, using language and concepts that children, teachers and parents can feel comfortable using.

Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure™  is a Bravehearts™ Personal Safety Program that Talofa Kids are delivering to children in Samoa.

Bravehearts Foundation™ – Australia’s Leading Child Protection Agency

3. Teenagers will be given special training on how to communicate safely online in order to avoid being potentially groomed

This project in 2021 is fully-funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in NZ and we are so grateful to have their support in helping us to make an impact on this issue

THE COOL, CALM PARENT

This program provides a community and personal approach as parents work with a certified parenting coach to understand their children and apply practical strategies in their homes. Talofa Kids wants to see families flourishing and living their best life because then children will be blessed by being raised by cool parents in calm environments. We aim to break generational cycles of abuse and help parents have renewed hope in their parenting journey.

Commences in April 2021
